SARAH GRUNERT

Sarah took up stained glass in 2022, after realizing it was very much something she didn't want to try and learn from the internet alone. One class and a very lucky supply find on Facebook Marketplace later, she started building pieces on her patio. Sarah draws inspiration from the scenery of the Saanich Peninsula and cubism, but is best well known for pickle ornaments. While her favourite part of the process is soldering, her most enjoyable part of teaching is the moment a student finds the skill that clicks with them most. TIM SMITH

Tim learned to cut glass at the young age of 3. Following in the family tradition, he has been an integral part of Glass-Smith for the past 45 years. He has learned skills & techniques from Patty Gray, Brock Craig, Tom Mercer, and of course his dad whom started him in this adventure, as well as the many other artists/teachers that have come through the Glass Smith doors. He brings to his classes a genuine interest in sharing his years of knowledge and enjoyment of stained glass and fusing glass.
