Glass Smith offers classes in the categories listed below. For details click a category name in the list.

Advanced Window Making (no classes currently scheduled)

Window construction using either lead came or copper foil. Framing, reinforcing, colour selection tips.

Fusing (no classes currently scheduled)

Explore the world of Warm Glass using a kiln to make beautiful & unique fused objects.

Kaleidoscopes, Sandscapes, or Boxes (no classes currently scheduled)

In these classes you will learn about making a 2-D or 3-Dimensional object. Using copperfoil technique, these classes will help you perfect your soldering as well as making a beautiful heirloom gift.

PRIVATE WORKSHOPS (no classes currently scheduled)

We will put on a special private workshop for a group. Minimum 4 people and maximum 10 people. You decide what type of class you want to take and we will put it together. Any day or evening EXCEPT Sundays.

Sandblasting (1 class)

Sandblasting using a blasting booth with pressure pot system.

Stained Glass (2 classes)

We offer a wide variety of stained glass classes for all skill levels.

YOUTH WORKSHOPS (no classes currently scheduled)

These workshops are geared towards kids aged 10-17.

CAVAN BUTLER
Cavan has been doing stained glass for over 25 years and has been teaching for 20. While he is a master at working with lead, his teaching skills, and knowledge of stained glass are among the best. He has been featured on Go Magazine, Check Around and many newpaper articles. His Irish wit adds humour to every class!

DEBBIE JANSEN
Always having a love of things made of glass it was natural for her to master most glass mediums. Starting with cement stepping stones with in-laid glass, copperfoil & leaded glass windows; she moved onto glass fusing & torchwork and was completely hooked. Debbie has learned from some amazing teachers as well as experimenting on her own. She also hosts an annual event Debbie Jansen & Friends "Glass Only ". She used her resources to become a dedicated, knowledgeable and very fun teacher. She looks forward to having you in her class.

DONNA DOHERTY
Donna has over 27 years experience that she loves to share with students. She brings patient guidance, warmth & laughter and expertise working with copperfoil and decorative soldering to each of her classes and is highly regarded as a wonderful teacher.

TIM SMITH
Tim learned to cut glass at the young age of 3. Following in the family tradition, he has been an integral part of Glass-Smith for the past 30 years. He has learned skills & techniques from Patty Gray, Brock Craig, Tom Mercer, and of course his dad who started him in this adventure, as well as the many other artists/teachers that have come through our door. He brings to his classes, patience with beginners and a genuine interest in sharing his years of knowledge and enjoyment of stained glass and fusing glass.
